The Snowdonian 2015

The Snowdonian train is already full in both Observation Cars, and as it has only two ends, we cannot add another!  So booking now is in the comfortable cars in the rest of the train.  Don’t overlook the fabulous photographic train on Sunday.

SNOWDONIAN TRAIN : The Next Snowdonian will leave in the morning of Saturday 18th April 2015.

Not only will the popular conducted tour of Boston Lodge take place on Friday afternoon, 17th April, for you to see all the working projects in action there, but we are intending to offer a special Photo Charter on Sunday 19th April, with the possibility of doing some very special things between Porthmadog and Rhyd Ddu.

DAY 1

The conducted visit to Boston Lodge on Friday afternoon 17th April will take place again, with a special train to get you there, and another to bring you back for a pre-booked meal in Spooners Restaurant.  This visit is extremely popular, and the guides are there to answer all your questions.  No charge for all of this – it’s part of the Snowdonian experience.  You do however need to book and pay for your evening meal in Spooners.

DAY 2

The Snowdonian train this year will head for Blaenau Ffestiniog first, before returning nonstop from Minffordd to Pont Croesor (change of motive power) and on to Beddgelert for lunch.  This time we will roll the train back out of Beddgelert and come in again, for those who want to wait and take pictures a while before joining the queue for the wonderful buffet at the Goat Hotel.  After lunch it is on to Caernarfon with the two Ladies on the front (perhaps assisted by the Old Gent) and a sprightly return to Porthmadog.  But that is by no means the end of the fun.  There’s another days excitement to follow and if you book on both, you get a reduction!

DAY 3

The special Sunday Photo Charter will run from Porthmadog to Rhyd Ddu, stopping along the way for you to get out and take pictures.  An England engine with an original WHR train will be on offer. The exciting schedule for this 19th April special will be published as soon as it has been agreed.  Probable charge for the exclusive charter train (including packed lunch) will be £100.  All profit for this and other activities to the Diamond Jubilee Appeal.

Lots to firm up and confirm – these are preliminary plans.  First class booking for Snowdonian is now OPEN – first come, first served, first class.
